Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – Lecture Series held on 14th January 2022- “How contemporary India interprets gender equality?”

A webinar in the series celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, was organized at ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal on 14^th January, 2022 through online mode. The lecture on “How contemporary India interprets gender equality?” was delivered by Prof. Vageshwari Deswal, Faculty of Law, Delhi University. The webinar was attended by 73 participants from various ICAR institutes, Universities, other research Institutes etc. Dr BP Mishra, Director, ICAR-NBAGR welcomed the Guest Speaker and all participants in the webinar.

Prof. Deswal emphasized that “Gender Equality” is important in order to understand the rights of all humans, which is a Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations. She opined that we need to mainstream gender considerations in all spheres of our lives with a perspective for equal participation to ensure Women’s equality and empowerment. Dr. Sonika Ahlawat, Sr. Scientist coordinated the programme.
